Body Sculpting Q & A

Integrative Laser Center of Washington

What is body sculpting?

Body-sculpting procedures use innovative radio frequency to destroy your fat cells, permanently decreasing the circumference of your treatment area. This innovative treatment focuses radio frequency energy directly at your fat cells, increasing their internal temperature beyond what it can withstand.

The process hurts the cell’s integrity, eventually causing it to die. After its death, your body naturally processes the cell, removing it from your body. Once a fat cell is destroyed, it doesn’t regenerate, and another one doesn’t take its place.

At Integrative Laser Center of Washington, Dr. McIntosh and his team use the CUTERA truSculpt® 3D, which averages a 24% reduction in fat thickness after just one treatment.

What happens during a body-sculpting procedure?

When you see your aesthetician for a truSculpt session, they prepare the equipment while you get comfortable in the treatment chair. Once they’re ready, they use a handheld device, moving it over your target treatment area.

Each treatment area takes about 15 minutes to complete. The most common treatment involves the abdomen and love handles and averages about one hour.

The procedure doesn’t cause discomfort, and many patients say it feels similar to a hot stone massage.

When can you expect results after body contouring?

Once your body-sculpting procedure is complete, you’re free to go without restrictions. The treatment requires no downtime, and you can resume your normal activities. You may feel slightly sore in the treatment area, but it’s typically mild and goes away quickly.

Because it takes time for the cells to die and your body to remove them, it takes six to eight weeks for noticeable results, with maximum benefit in about three months. While one treatment can bring drastic results, Dr. McIntosh may recommend two treatments to improve your contours.

Because truSculpt treatments permanently remove fat cells, you can expect your decrease in circumference and reduced volume to remain as long as you don’t gain weight. If you do gain weight, the treatment area may get larger but will stay reduced in comparison to untreated areas.

If you’re ready to say goodbye to the stubborn fat in your trouble zones, do it safely and effectively with truSculpt 3D. Call Integrative Laser Center of Washington today to schedule your initial consultation or book your appointment online.
